The premise of a book exploring humanity’s destructive impact on the world delivered as a conversation between a man and a gorilla named Ishmael intrigued me. Alas! I’ve pushed myself, and once again the balance has been restored between the two!ĭaniel Quinn’s Ishmael represents the last recollection I have from a book mention from the old Megadeth Forums. This is the second time this year when my reading speed has surpassed my writing speed and I’ve come to identify that, when that happens, the dreaded writer’s laze appears. It don’t know if it was post-vacational depression, but after I finishied Platero y Yo, the notion of having to write two posts seemed unusually daunting, and the prospect of adding a third one to the list did not seem too alluring. I have been in a small reading slump after my summer holidays.
